Knit Wit


Come learn with us!  Each month's meeting includes fun and educational activities.  

We offer a combination of meeting in person and virtually on Zoom. Links to the Zoom meetings are emailed to all active RCK members (i.e. dues paid) in advance of the meeting.​  


In-person meetings are held at Legacy at Imperial Village, 1717 Bellevue Ave in Richmond VA, usually on the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Prospective new members are invited to attend their first in-person meeting at no charge. Proof of COVID vacations is required at the first visit. Masks are optional.

Our own Judy Lewis will provide an introduction to using knitCompanion. She will demonstrate this very useful app, as well as provide links and resources. This will be an overview of knitCompanion rather than a hands-on presentation.

Focus on Charity Knitting 

Charity Project Board member Linda Poorbaugh will tell us about opportunities to knit and crochet objects for  our community. One organization to which we contribute items is From the Heart. Members are asked to bring any charity knitting they have done. Food Drive: Please also bring canned goods to donate.

Ute Grzanna has been teaching knitting to Richmonders at many local yarn shops for quite a while. She currently teaches at Dances with Wool. With us, she will focus on Mosaic Knitting.

Knit in Public Day at the Library of Virginia

The Library of Virginia is hosting a Worldwide Knit in Public event this year. Guild members will join knitters from the community to participate in social knitting. More information on this international event can be found here.

Xandy Peters, designer and teacher, will demonstrate her innovative stacked stitch technique.

Focus on multiple knitting techniques

Members will demonstrate some special techniques in knitting, followed by show and tell and social knitting.

Zoom with Stephen West of Westknits

RCK welcomes back Stephen West for another fun and informative session. 

Stephen West Knit Along kick-off January 2024. Members select a Stephen West pattern to knit. Finish date is September 14. Show and Tell along the way.

October 26-27, 2024

Two-day Workshop with Tanis Gray

Tanis Gray, designer, teacher, and author, will conduct a two-day workshop. Details to follow.

Retreat at Ruth's House

One day in-person retreat with social knitting, show and tell, and pot-luck lunch.
